Music Process I

The music reproduction process is such a long and complicated process that you may not realize it until you are neck deep in it. On closer analysis however, you may discover that it is most simple when you produce your own original work as opposed to doing covers for other popular songs. That option would ambush you with a ton of paperwork, most of which if you are unprepared will totally overwhelm you.

But that said, it is always fun especially the music creation part. Where exactly does a song begin though, that inspiration? That moment when thoughts, music and vision all work with profound efficiency to exact what would be your first hit? Whenever you get that moment, you will need to record that and then voila – you have your first song. Sadly that is not even the tip of the iceberg since one song does not an album make, but that can be argued just ask that “tell em” guy. Regardless, you have one song, eleven more to go after which you have your album right? Well at least on paper. Now you have to find that individual that will work with you to put the music together one song at a time, you know, the “let’s make a beat” part for each of your twelve songs…oh wait, do you have your singer? Oh wait, did you register your music with the US Copyright offices in DC? Not necessary? So you see where I am going with this, we only have a vision of an album, we have not made a single recording yet, and well, I am already overwhelmed. We have not even begun to talk marketing and promotions. But what do I know, I only blog.

We at HighLite Vibes are learning as we go, and sure it’s a challenge, but we know the path behind us, and we already found the shortcuts – The path ahead will always be tough and challenge, but who’s path isn’t? Nothing is ever handed to you, and even when it is, you have to make the effort to go take it. And that’s what we are doing here – Taking what is given to us, and moving forward down that hidden path.
